Citizens Advice Bureau –
Wimblington Parish Council have an arrangement that a representative from the CAB will visit the village on a monthly basis to provide advice to residents. These sessions take place on the 1stWednesday of every month from 2.00pm to 4.00pm in the Wimblington Parish Hall. This facility is now being offered to Doddington residents; you do not have to book an appointment just turn up on the day. Alternatively the CAB’s Adviceline operates on 0808 278 7807 (Freephone) Monday to Friday from 9.30am to 3.30pm
New Acer tree –
The Parish Council have ordered a standard Acer tree to commemorate the Queens Green Canopy scheme. It will be planted in the green area near Policeman’s Corner, together with a Flowering Cherry that is being given by the WI.
Routine maintenance and repairs to road surfaces –
We have been advised that Cambridgeshire County Council have utilised all of its budget for the current financial year that was earmarked for routine highway repairs such as pot holes. The Parish Council will continue to put pressure on CCC to find reserves to ensure that the most dangerous road surfaces are repaired. However it is unlikely that any significant work will be possible until after April 2023.
New noticeboards for the village bus shelters –
An order has been issued to supply 4 noticeboards that will be installed inside the bus shelters. These will improve communications around the village. Details of how to get your message into these boards will be available in the Diary, as soon as they have been put in place.
Warm Hub facility –
Arrangements are in hand to provide a warm hub facility in the village. These will take place in the Church Rooms on New Street from 11.30am until 2.30pm and the first date that the facility will be available is Wednesday 4th January 2023. All are welcome and hot drinks will be provided. Do come along, get warm and meet new friends.
