Over the following two days, the Parish Council is arranging for the installation of 10 pieces of outside gym equipment to be installed adjacent to the Pavilion on the Abbey Recreation Ground off Beech Avenue.
The equipment is being supplied by Fresh Air Fitness who are a specialist company supplying outside gym equipment to Councils, education establishments, care homes, hospitals, hotels and holiday parks throughout the country.
The mix of equipment that will be supplied caters for users of all ages. Two pieces of equipment are specifically designed for primary school aged children, one piece has been developed for people in wheelchairs, and the remaining seven pieces are suitable for users from aged 11 up to retirement. Many of the pieces allow for two people to use that item at the same time.
Outside gyms are a very popular form of exercise and we hope that this installation will provided an added asset for the recreation ground and the residents.
